Sports acupuncture is a natural way to reduce or eliminate the pain that is stopping you from training and competing.

Addressing Injuries

Many injuries or pain in active bodies are typically caused by over or improper training or from an incident.  Acupuncture excels at helping the body naturally repair these types of injuries. Trigger point acupuncture is the ultimate style for sports enthusiasts. Traditional acupuncture inserts needles into areas suffering pain or distant points and lets them sit. A Trigger Point acupuncturist first uses touch to find the unnaturally tight or knotty offending muscles. Then, the practitioner uses needles to gently probe the muscle causing involuntary twitching. This twitching releases the tightness that often is the real source of the pain.

Muscular Issues hindering training

Sometimes muscles not directly related to your sport can hinder training and thus impact performance. Acupuncture can treat satellite issues that are impacting your training. For exampe, a pain in your back may make running very difficult to tolerate.

Speeding Recovery

A competitive event or significantly more intense workout can require more than one day and sometimes several days for the body to recover. Clinical studies show that acupuncture treatment increases blood circulation which moves toxins (lactic acid) and can accelerate healing and recovery. The study showed circulation 3 minutes after treatment approximately 20% higher than before.
